How to Perform a Novena Correctly: For Health, Wealth, Love, Work & Abundance
I often share this novenas practice with my Tarot clients. My first novena —to Saint Archangel Chamuel (also called Samuel or Camael)— manifested my dream job.
After finishing my college degree from UVEG (Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato), I transitioned into full-time Tarot readings from home.
My Spiritual Journey
– On November 14, 2017, I created a Facebook page —but I started using it after losing my dog, Domi. I discovered Facebook Ads: a low-budget tool to reach specific audiences.
– In August 2018, my husband Héctor gifted me a Kabbalistic Angel & Archangel deck for our 8th anniversary. Through it, I learned my guardian angel is Hahaiah, who grants clairvoyance— explaining how I mastered the Tarot (Rider-Waite) in just three months!

Step-by-Step Novena Guide
1. Clarity & Gratitude: Focus on your desire, visualize it as it’s already yours, and give thanks in advance.
2. Positive Energy: Perform the novena with joy —avoid desperation, tears, or demands. Divine timing is perfect. Avoid drama, gossip, and negativity.
3. Write Your Petitions: Detail requests on paper (e.g., US$5,000 monthly from freelance work”).
4. Candle Ritual: Light any candle at home for 9 nights. Read your petitions aloud.
5. Praying for others: Include their full names/details (e.g., Max Pérez, my backyard dog”). *Never reveal you’re praying for them*—this earns extra dharma.
6. Specificity Matters:
– Health: Name the illness.
– Money: State the amount and source.
– Always ask for more than you need.
7. Sacred Tools: Place a candle on a small plate (use it specifically for your novenas).
8. Storage: Fold the petition under the plate or tuck it into your sleepwear (safe from prying eyes).
– Let the candle burn fully, or extinguish it safely after an hour. Never leave a candle unattended.
9. Days 1–8: Repeat every night or day. Add water to the plate for safety.
10. Day 9: Burn the petition in the candle’s flame—releasing all of your worries.
Sample Prayer:
“Angel [Name],
*I am [Your Full Name]. I thank you in advance for [list requests: health, love, wealth, etc.]. Amen.”
My personal prayer would be something like:
Angel Hahahiah,
I am Jéssica de la Portilla Montaño. I thank you in advance for giving me back the money I lost in a phishing scam. Amen.”
Alternative Novenas & Tips
– Traditional Novenas: Saint Jude (Thaddeus) helped me when my daughter’s umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. After 3 days, the cord miraculously unwound.
Public gratitude is a must : —I posted a photo on my personal Facebook thanking St. Jude.
– Pre-Written Novenas: Google “Novenas in English” and the name of your Saint or Angel.
– Universal Practice: Novenas are known in Catholicism, but you just need faith. Better if you believe in the Law of Attraction and if you ask for things aligned with your spiritual growth.

Never deny a granted wish (e.g., don’t call it “luck”).
